Description

This drop-in session provides time for questions, live demos, and individual support for faculty navigating digital accessibility in their courses. Get targeted help with digital accessibility in your courses -- whether you’re troubleshooting a tricky file, testing a tool, or looking for quick feedback on your content. We’ll be ready to address your questions, demonstrate solutions, and offer practical tips you can apply immediately.

Session Objectives:
  • Clarify common accessibility challenges in course materials.
  • Demonstrate tools or techniques based on faculty questions.
  • Provide just-in-time feedback on accessibility practices.
Whether you’re building a new course or updating old materials, this open session will give you actionable steps to make your content more inclusive.

How to Make the Most of Your Digital Accessibility Drop-In

To ensure we can help everyone, please review this quick checklist before attending:

1. Identify Your Priority

  • Bring one or two specific questions or issues you’d like to address.

  • Focus on your highest-impact need (e.g., describing an image, adding captions).

2. Bring Your Materials

  • Have the file(s) or course content ready to share.

  • If possible, log into Blackboard or the relevant tool before the session.

3. Know Your Tools

  • Identify which platform or software you’re working with (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Blackboard).

  • If it’s a third-party tool, know where the accessibility settings or reports are located.

4. Be Ready for Short, Focused Support

  • We’ll spend about 10–15 minutes per person to ensure everyone gets time.

  • For deeper questions, we’ll schedule a follow-up session or share resources you can use afterward.

5. Bring an Open Mind

  • Some solutions may be quick fixes, others may require long-term adjustments.

  • We’re here to help you take the next step toward accessible content -- wherever you are starting.

If you don't know where to begin, that's okay! We'll help you review your course accessibility report and prioritize your roadmap to get you on the path to accessibility.
